Ireland is having a local election soon. And I have no one I want to vote for. The strangest thing I have found about my local representatives is that it doesn’t matter who is voted in, the party that the politicians do or do not represent is not important and I will tell you why I feel this way.
Rubbish in the area I live in has been an issue for some time. The place has rapidly expanded in size over the last number of years at a rate faster than amenities can be put in place.
There is a notable lack of bins. So I raised the issue with local representatives who all basically said that if I can get enough people behind my “cause” they will then put their name behind it.
This thought has stuck out in my mind for some time that I have come to realise that when I need something done it doesn’t matter who is voted in the only thing that matters is the number of people behind an idea that makes the difference.
